In April 2025, the Foundation traveled to Bihar, India, to work with Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital—an institution that exemplifies what is possible when vision, discipline, and service align. This visit carried special meaning. Seven years ago, we volunteered at Akhand Jyoti when it was still developing. Returning this year, we witnessed remarkable growth in both infrastructure and impact, a powerful reminder of what long-term investment in people and systems can achieve.

 

Alongside Susan and Alex, we delivered educational and inspirational talks to students, emphasizing that excellence in medicine is built on compassion, rigor, and humility. Akhand Jyoti’s success mirrors the very model the Suh Foundation champions: empowering local leaders, training future providers, and strengthening institutions that will serve communities for generations.
